OSCAR (Oil Springs Cultural Arts and Recreation Center)
Originally an elementary school, the Oil Springs Cultural Arts and Recreation (OSCAR) center is now considered a cultural heritage center, offering area artisans a place to teach and participate in many artistic classes. OSCAR also provides the public an opportunity to view products made exclusively by these artisans. The center displays antiques, artifact collections, pottery, has a history study room, arts and crafts library, recycle shop, woodshop, workshop and music room. The mural- decorated "Medina Garden" cafe is available for booking for numerous types of parties and gatherings. The public is invited to participate in workshops and classes in painting, murals, woodcarving, piano and guitar, sewing and weaving, basket making, quilting, pottery and recycled art.
