Southern and Eastern Kentucky is known for its down home cooking and warm southern hospitality. The region is home to four scenic byways with unique restaurants, dishes and treats the locals consider must eat “Byway Bites.”

As you enjoy the beauty of our region, take time to enjoy our local flavor. The restaurants featured in the publication are only a sampling of the distinctive eateries you’ll find along the way.  We have selected 29 featured eateries to include in "Byway Bites."  Although every county in each of the byways have many wonderful places to eat, only one establishment per county could be included in this feature. 

From Fried Green Tomatoes and Sand Pie to Soup Beans and Corn Bread and a Slaw Burger and Fries, there is something to please everyone along the beautiful byways of southern and eastern Kentucky!
