What’s your idea of adventure? Is it a challenging climb up a rock face, an exhilarating speedboat skimming across an expansive lake, netting a big fish or revving up your spirits on a rugged ATV trail? For some, it’s hiking a dappled forest trail, camping among the summer serenade of frogs and crickets, or canoeing the cool fresh waters of Southern and Eastern Kentucky.

For the more adventurous, seasonal hunting opportunities are available in designated areas of Southern and Eastern Kentucky. For the more casual nature enthusiast, it’s easy to find relaxing water activities, breathtaking overlooks and hiking in all seasons.

Red River Gorge

Red River Gorge is a premier destination for cyclists of all ages and skill levels. With the Summer of Cycling events there is truly something for everyone, from recreational, non-competitive touring events to races for top professionals and everything in between. If you’re just starting out or a seasoned pro there is an event for you in Red River Gorge.

Somernites Cruise

Somerset is the official car cruise capitol of Kentucky. Somernites Cruise is held rain or shine the 4th Saturday April – October from 1:00pm to 7:00 pm in downtown Somerset. Cruise events are free to participants and spectators. Somernites Show & Shine is a non-judged event open to all Street rods, Classics, Antiques, Muscle cars and highly modified Late Models. Each show concludes with the “Parade of Classics” along US 27.

Specialty Area's at each month show focus on a specific make or model and are all parked together as a
show-within-a-show.

Participants can also take part in the Fun Runs held the morning of the cruise in. A different destination is featured each month. Participants gather at 8:00am at Hardees South, stoplight 22 on US 27.

Somernites Cruise isn’t just for adults. A Kids Kruze zone will be set up inside the cruise area featuring free inflatables for the kids.
