Historic Adventures With all the roads and automobiles today it’s hard to imagine that mountains could completely prevent people from moving to other parts of the country, but Kentucky was once a mysterious, will and unknown place full of wild game and scattered settlements from Native Americans, European Settlers, and Civil War battlefields.

Mill Springs Battlefield Visitor Center & Museum

The Mill Springs Battlefield Museum in Nancy is just one of more than a dozen Civil War sites found in Southern and Eastern Kentucky. Visitors can view a wide range of artifacts recovered from the battlefield. Cannon shot and many bullets have been found; some never fired and some chewed by pigs.
